Callie’s Corner: Attention Ice Girls Hopefuls- You Don’t Want to Miss the Final Dallas Stars Ice Girls Prep Class!

By Former Dallas Stars Ice Girl, Callie Hickman

There is only ONE MORE Dallas Stars Ice Girls prep class left before auditions, and let me tell you, ladies- You will NOT want to miss it if you want to better your chances for a spot on this team. Why? Because not only will you get valuable face time with the director and veterans, but you will also learn the dance that is going to be taught the first round of auditions. There’s nothing like the feeling of knowing the first round choreography when you walk into auditions!

Here are the details of the very last prep class:

Date: Monday, July 18th
Time: Registration starts at 6:40pm, and ice skating starts at 7pm. Get there as early as you can so you can get your skates on and be on the ice on time!
Where: Dr. Pepper StarCenter, McKinney, TX. (6933 Stars Ave)
What to Bring: Tall socks (for ice skating), warm clothes for the ice (layers work nicely so you can pull them off when it comes time for the dance portion), water, snacks, and a SMILE!

*Remember that you do not have to know how to skate AND dance. You can try out as a skater or a dancer. I auditioned as a dancer my rookie season and made it, so don’t fret it if you are shaky on the ice!*

Message from the Dallas Stars Ice Girls Director, Christina Swanson:
“Being at this last prep class is extremely important for Ice Girls hopefuls because it gives me a chance to get to know them and their talents before the day of auditions. Take advantage of this time to learn and ask me, as well as the veterans, questions about what auditions and being an Ice Girl are like. We look forward to seeing everyone!”
